The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) today signed Tenancy Agreements with its first three tenants to be located at the Knowledge Hub; Tech One Global, Telbru’s iLM Academy and University Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
Tech One Global is an international value-added software and services company incorporated in Brunei and partnering with Microsoft. Tech One Global is investing in a ‘Microsoft Experience’ Centre to be located in the Knowledge Hub. Signing on behalf of Tech One Global was its General Manager Mr Arjuna Ranasinghe and to witness was Ms Azizah Ali, Microsoft Country Manager.
Telbru, renowned local telecommunications company, will be launching an ICT, Leadership and Management Academy at the Knowledge Hub. To be known as iLM Academy, the institute is set to be a training and development academy for ICT practitioners. Signing on behalf of Telbru was its General Manager Hjh Hasnah bte Haji Azri and to witness was Asli bin Haji Tengah, Learning and Development Technical Manager.
Meanwhile, signing on behalf of the BEDB was Mr Vincent Cheong, CEO of the BEDB, witnessed by Dr Abd Manaf Metussin, Deputy CEO of the BEDB and Head of Local Business Development division.
The signing took place at the Knowledge Hub in Anggerek Desa and was attended by representatives from the new tenant companies as well as members of the BEDB.
The event ended with a demonstration by Telbru’s SiPADU team, on the Unified Communications (UC) set-up proposed to be installed at the Knowledge Hub. UC aims to integrate of all forms of communications towards optimizing business processes and reducing response time, managing flows and eliminating device and media dependencies. The UC demonstration was supported by Mecatronic Tech Sdn Bhd, eSuria, Folec Communications and Tech One Global.
The Knowledge Hub is a centre for research and development. It is the second phase of development in the BEDB’s plan to develop a technology park at Anggrek Desa. The first phase, iCentre, was launched in March 2008 and is already fully operational. |
